the coffee song

Frank Sinatra, Brazil and Coffee -- we're there.

Way down among Brazilians
Coffee beans grow by the billions
So they've got to find those extra cups to fill
They've got an awful lot of coffee in Brazil

Baby, baby, baby, I wanna stew your tomato
Baby, baby, baby, I want to french fry your potato

savoy truffle

we owe this post to the american idols this week paying homage to the beatles and we thought we'd follow suit with a post about their song savoy truffle:

Creme tangerine and montelimat
A ginger sling with a pineapple heart
A coffee dessert--yes you know it's good news
But you'll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.

Harrison apparently wrote the song as a tribute to Eric Clapton's chocolate addiction, and derived the title and many of the lyrics from a box of Mackintosh Good News chocolates.

We've searched the web to buy one of these yummy boxes, but alas came up empty. If you know anything about the chocolate company let us know.

millions of peaches peaches for free. well they might not be free, and a million would sure be a lot, but if you did have a million peaches for free here's a quick peach cobbler recipe (and the presidents of the united states video too).

5 cups sliced peaches
1 cup self-rising flour

1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup butter

Sprinkle sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg on peaches. Toss. Place in shallow dish. Mix sugar, flour, and egg to a crumb-like texture. Pour over peaches. Melt butter and drizzle over crumbs. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

like juice and gin, in the city we blend

today's post is inspired by Common's The Food (w/ Kanye West) which is actually a reference to Snoop's 2nd single. Here's the wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gin_and_Juice. The video's a bit racy, but worth checking out.

Juice and Gin Recipe

Consider the Abbey for your next brunch. It's very simple to make and the orange bitters add a kick.

1 1/2 ounces orange juice
2 ounces gin
2 dashes orange bitters

Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a cherry.

cheeseburger in paradise

Cheeseburger is paradise.
Heaven on earth with an onion slice.
Not too particular, not too precise.
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise.

Jimmy even gives a food monologue at the beginning of this video of him singing the titled song live in concert. If he makes you hungry visit our burger recipes page.

Don't want no Captain Crunch, don't want no Raisin Bran

If you don't know that's the 2nd line to Weird Al Yankovic's Eat It, his parody of Michael Jackson's beat it. He didn't care what you ate -- Have some more chicken, have some more pie It doesn't matter if it's broiled or fried. Just eat it. Eat it.
