Weekly Meal Planning

Here's a great strategy for those of you who can only go grocery shopping on the weekends:

Monday: Make something with leftovers. Eat the meal you make tonight again on Friday. Choose something that freezes well.

Tuesday: Focus on fresh. Choose something that spoils more quickly like meat, poultry, fish or fragile vegetables.

Wednesday: Make it in the morning. Break out your slow cooker and by the time you're ready for dinner it will be ready.

Thursday: Use your pantry. Pasta is always a good choice.

Friday: Didn't we eat this on Monday? Yum.

real meal deals

here are a few tried and true ways to cut back on grocery expenses.
- double up the recipe, there's no to plan a new meal every night, instead double the serving size of your meals and create leftovers. it takes the stress out of thinking up another dinner and saves money.
- shop for staples not convenience, say no to easy items like chips and cookies, instead think healthy items you can make and pack.
- don't focus on the sales, buying foods that aren't on your list will add to the bill, you might end up spending more.
