better be balsamic

The right balsamic vinegar can make all of the difference. The older the balsamic the better.

Try this simple balsamic vinaigrette for a great tasting salad.

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
3/4 cup olive oil

Beat the vinegar in a bowl with garlic, salt and pepper. Slowly beat in the oil whisking constantly. Put in a cute bottle.

salads with style

One of the keys to fabu salads is texture. Toppings add a whole new element and can change the experience. For a bold crunch you can add almonds or cashews. For a subtle chew cranberries and raisins will do. For creamy, soft try crumbled goat cheese. Play around with it and have fun.

Salad tip: Remember to put the dressing on at the picnic or it's soggy salad for you.
